We found this today at our door, one thing we can learn from Covid 19 is how great our extended Oaktree family are and we can’t wait to see you all again.
The Covid-19 pandemic is impacting everyone around the world, today marks a landmark day in Oaktree’s 21st year, from today the 24/03/2020 at 18:00 we will be temporarily closing our doors.

This is an extremely emotional day as the TeamOaktree family go their separate ways for an undetermined period of time as we wait for the full force of the pandemic to hit our community.

Our decision making process involved our TeamOaktree family, we analysed all the feedback and assessed all the risks from every angle and although very difficult, we believe a temporary closure is the safest conclusion for the best outcomes of our children, parents and our whole team.

To our Oaktree parents thank you so much for the love and support given over the last 20 years and especially over the last couple of weeks.

We would like to thank every keyworker not just in our TeamOaktree but within the wider community, you are putting everything on the line as we see this pandemic impact on every aspect of our life. I would also like to share the level of togetherness in our community and recognise the great work everyone is doing, this is a great community.

TeamOaktree has been our life for over 20 years, Catherine and myself both know the effect closing even temporarily will have on us emotionally. Your children have all played a role within our own family as we share all the funny stories and jokes from our day with our own children and quite often our extended families.

As a TeamOaktree family we hope we can help each other through this and we look forward to our first day back where we hope to hit the ground running post Covid-19.

We wish you good health love and happiness. Stay positive, stay safe.

Two Shane’s in the one place, best gang ever😁
So pleased to meet one of my hero’s on world book day!!
❤️We can all make a difference 🤩
Since the start of the year we have been working in the background on our Core Team Values👌
Our Team is so important for the positive outcomes of children😀 We are not here to simply look after children each day, if we don’t stop and evaluate the outcomes of each child we are failing miserably! We have this amazing opportunity to positively impact on the outcomes of every child and we intend to apply the latest research to continually give every child the tools to achieve their true potential and lead a happy healthy life🙏
🎉Congratulations to Rebecca and Ann on receiving recognition for the effort they put in last night and over the last few months. 🤩
I hope they enjoy their day at the Hilton. 😁
Our goal over the next 12 months is to improve not just the nursery but the health and well-being of our Team. It is important follow our core Team Values and continually build and nurture a positive and honest team spirit. We are well aware of the huge effort everyone is making and it is important that no Team member feels left behind on our journey. We hope in 12 months time we can all look back and recognise how much happier we all are. ❤️# Clear Brain Thinking
We are so excited to launch our new Mission, Vision and Goal 🤩 This sets us on a path where we hope others will share our vision and together we will achieve our shared goal 🤗
# Change the outcomes
Our brains have such a connection with natural materials 😍
Story time is such an immersive learning experience😁👌
I love this provocation in our baby room❤️❤️
I love this little tree was left with lots of materials at the bottom and the children randomly added to the tree over the course of the day and it became a living thing, growing and changing over the day.❤️
The card says it all. ❤️#Happy mum and dad 😁
I love that one of our Team made this at home and brought it in to share. 😁 Our Team is evolving and we are rethinking our core values. Our research has decoded happiness and our emphasis is to use this new framework with our team first and then our parents and children. 🎥 In one of the team training videos I asked everyone to try and imagine others with a note on their head say ‘Please make me feel special’, this exercise is a simple step to improving team relationships and I can see that Paula has thought about this and used talents that I wasn’t even aware of. 🥣 Our time is our most valuable asset and if someone volunteers their precious time it can only make you feel important.👌So thankyou Paula for making us all feel important today😁
 #Life is great🤗
😁This put a smile on my face when I came in this morning. I love this not only because it made me chuckle, 🤣it encompasses some of our research into allergies, it is vital we introduce antigens from an early age, playing with soil, animals and a broad variety of natural materials will have a positive impact on the outcomes of your child.

 # Challenge and evaluate conventional thinking 🤔
# Focus on outcomes
Thanks for the chocolates and wine Sean, but there is no need 👍
I highlighted some of Lauren’s Team’s work the other day and today I noticed Ann’s Team’s display, so I thought I would share it too. I like these because I can see they are going to provoke the children’s thought process in many ways. We can see the three dimensional pots and natural materials creating shadows that move during the day. We see the materials the children have picked from outside, when we bring nature inside the child’s brain is examining the two environments and processing all the information that goes with that. 😀😀Learning is amazing😀😀
I love to see the natural materials getting used
I noticed Lauren and her team had put these up wall, I love the idea of the children picking some of our plants outside an bringing them into their story area. 😍 #surrounded by nature
I had to take a close up of this delight today because I took a bit out of it before I remembered I’m supposed to take a photo 🤣 My gut bacteria has changed now that I wrench a bit if there is too much sugar in something, this was amazing, definitely something we could work on in the future for the children. Thank you paula😁
Seanie is a relatively new member of TeamOaktree, and already a crucial cog, anything from Brownie development, deep cleans, bus driving, office work, chief pet carer to maintenance! Also she highlights one of our core values 😀‘Laugh at at least once per day and be able to laugh at yourself at least twice a day’ 😀
A number of Team were involved in the development of these, a big thanks to everyone especially Olga for making them😁
It’s another Teriffic Tuesday!
❤️I love my life❤️
Be kind whenever possible- 😁 IT’S ALWAYS POSSIBLE 😁
A friend of mine posted this as he awaits his child’s results today. 😁

This is one of my favourite representations depicting our education system, our amazing teachers on the front line are doing their best but we have to look at the lack of evolution in what we assume is the best system out their. 🌟

If we compare how technology has evolved compared to our education we can see the stark reality we are in a holding pattern with no real change, we need real leadership at the top to adapt better or we will fail our children.

We hope our research and how we implement the Clear Brain Thinking framework will make us all open our eyes that the development of our children should not be based on an exam factory structure but we should be looking at the latest research and focusing on the four key neurotransmitters for happiness, developing resilience for real life.

Individual learning processes in 10 minute chunks, hitting the 1000 hour outside target for vitamin D, nitric oxide production and nature immersion. We need to see how short bursts of exercise increase norepinephrine that helps with focused learning, We need to focus on the importance of the child’s circadian rhythm to get the brain ready for learning and seeing the positive impact from child lead and self learning methods.

I don’t know many parents that agree with this test but like myself I put two of my four children through it thinking it was the best for my child’s future.

To those children who get the result they were looking for, well done on your achievement but this is for the children and parents who are disappointed with this illusion of testing a child’s retention of facts over the space of a hour at the age of eleven can asses the potential of a child, when we truly look at the research we see it is simply an illusion and just highlights the crudeness of our current outdated system.

Please realise this will have no real impact on the long term outcomes in life. To all parents, follow the research and let your child reach their full potential in life.

😁 Happiness is simple - Dopamine, Serotonin, Endorphins and Oxytocin 😁
Has anyone tried this yet 😀
